Discover the critical role your gut and its resident microbes play in host well-being. Dr Lindsay Hall from the Institute of Food Research will talk through the role of the microbiota, including detection methodologies, bacterial biology and how the microbiota controls different physiological functions such as immune system development. Lindsay will also discuss how disrupting our bacterial ecosystem has been linked to many diseases including inflammatory bowel disease, allergies and even OA, and finally she will cover therapeutic approaches that could be used to prevent/treat disease.
